Re: Adding Line out prefix to all calls

Hello

the FAQ should be pretty clear on all issues and also has example logging so you can see what happens.

You did not add this as the 1st entry as suggested and neither is there a separator between the number aka a | so your digitmap will not work.

Please try to follow the instructions given and if this fails, and no other community volunteer has any idea, the next step would be contacting your Poly reseller.

In order to raise a support ticket, you need to work with your Poly reseller as they may need to do this for you.

End Customers are usually unable to open a ticket directly with Poly support. Available End User Poly services offerings are detailed here

If this is some sort of an Internet discounter providing your MAC address or your Poly devices serial will enable us to look up who would be able to support you. This may not be who you purchased the Poly device from.

If the unit is no longer within the warranty please be prepared to Pay Per Incident / PPI. This is all outlined in detail here

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards

You said the separator is not there | where should it go? I keep going over the code and don't see where it was missing i pieced this together from the FAQ

[2-9]11|0T|011xxx.T|[0-1][2-9]RR88011Rxxxxxxxxxx|[2-9]RR88011Rxxxxxxxxxx|[2-9]xxxT

You have not followed the instructions and neither have you posted any logs which should show your error.

Please change the default digitmap from:

[2-9]11|0T|011xxx.T|[0-1][2-9]xxxxxxxxx|[2-9]xxxxxxxxx|[2-9]xxxT|**x.T|+x.T

to:

RR88011Rxxxxxxxxxx|[2-9]11|0T|011xxx.T|[0-1][2-9]xxxxxxxxx|[2-9]xxxxxxxxx|[2-9]xxxT|**x.T|+x.T

If this fails please await other volunteers response or follow up the official way as already outlined.

Best regards

I'm not able to get an outside line when dialing out from my Polycom SoundStation 2W with my other Polycom's I can add the prefix 88013 to the Digitmap via the GUI to get around this. Is there a way I can do the same on the SoundStation 2W. I haven't be able to find a way to get to the GUI or IP since it's an analog device.

Hello

I have already replied >here< with clear instructions and troubleshooting steps. You have not followed up the post and neither posted any logs for us to try and help you.

You simply select the drop-down box and the desired software and the rest should be automatic. If this fails then there is most likely some sort of firewall or proxy.

The next step would be to set up a manual provisioning server which also helps to collect logs or configure the phones.

Oct 7, 2011 Question: How can I setup my Phone / Provisioning / Download / Upgrade / Update / Downgrade Software?
Resolution: Please check => here <=

If this all fails I already outlined the next steps in the above-linked post.

Re: Cannot access the Web Server on my VVX 410 (not an obvious question)

Hi @SteffenBaierUK ,

I'm making very little progress.

There are no other ports open but SSH and 443 within the first 1024 ones, but port 5060 (SIP) is open.

More interestingly, Polycom ZTP is Enabled on the phone and I believe it is used, although I have no experience at all with it so don't know what I could trace to capture what the provisioning is sending.

What I'm thinking now is if I could replicate the config on a softphone SIP client on my PC and access the line from there, then I could both analyze what the autoprovisioning is doing and also I wouldn't mind factory reset the phone since I would have enough parameters to put it back as it was in case of misconfiguration.

Can you disable the physical hookswitch?

Do you know if you can disable the physical hookswitch on a VVX Media Series phone via the config or some other method?

Perfect world I'd like it so that they can answer the call by lifting the receiver but the call will not hang up when they put it down, they would have to push the 'End Call' Button.

The hookswitch doesn't seem to have a known key id per https://documents.polycom.com/bundle/ucs-ag-5-8-1/page/r-ucs-ag-vvx-600-and-601-business-media-phone...

Hello  ,

Welcome to the Poly Community.

I suggest you experiment with the Key Observer Log level Event 2 as pressing the Hook Switch triggers a key 256 on a VVX 410 as an example:

0916081510|key |2|00|Time=136387.780 KeyPress=256 (Null) 0916081510|key |2|00|Time=136387.780 HookDown

And lifting it a key 255

0916081515|key |2|00|Time=136392.580 KeyRelease=255 (Line213) 0916081515|key |2|00|Time=136392.580 HookUp

Hello  ,

The shared FAQ should help you with this but I just tested this and it is not a supported scenario and my "idea" does not work.

This would be a feature request via a Poly reseller providing a business plan for lost revenue.

I'm going to resurrect this one and point out the catch 22 here on that last comment.

If the device cannot connect to the provisioning server to download its configuration file via HTTPS, then you're going to have a bit of a problem changing the configuration via a config file if you can only serve it via HTTPS.

[Software] VVX UC Software 6.3.1.8427

What’s New in This Release?

Poly Unified Communications (UC) Software 6.3.1.8427 is a release for OpenSIP and Skype for Business deployments.

These release notes provide important information on software updates, phone features, and known issues.

DNS Cache Configuration Update

When you enable the DNS cache restore parameter (dns.cache.dynamicRestore.enable), you can now configure the number of retries the phone attempts before it restores the cache using the

dns.queryRetryCount parameter.

dns.queryRetryCount

0 to 48 - The number of retries that the phone attempts before the cache is restored.

0 - Disable.

4 (default).

Ignore Software Upgrades

You can configure Poly phones to ignore software upgrades using the following options:

● Users can ignore software upgrades until the next synch event.

● Users can ignore subsequent upgrade dialogs.

prov.usercontrol.optionToIgnore

1 - The Ignore and Ignore until next Reboot/Sync softkeys display on the phone’s local interface during a software upgrade alert.

0 (default) - Users can defer software upgrades up to three times.

SNTP Resiliency

Poly phones can try alternate sources for SNTP addresses and offsets if attempts to contact the time server don’t work due to one of the following issues:

● The attempt fails.

● The phone receives invalid or no responses.

Enhanced Failover Configuration Updates

Poly UC Software 6.3.1 includes improvements to failover configuration.

SBC Line Registration

Line registration ensures that the phone maps lines to the session border controller (SBC), based on the DNS response. When you restart the device, it re-executes the initial DNS logic using NAPTR lookup to resolve the appropriate SBC IP addresses.

Fast Failover

This release introduces fast failover. In regular failover, the phone makes four attempts to contact a server before it fails over.

When you set the

reg.<x>.server.<y>.retryMaxCount

parameter to 3, the phone makes only three attempts to contact the server before it tries to register with another server.

Failover from TCP to TLS Crypto Attribute for SRTP

Poly phones support failing over from a TCP connection to a TLS connection. When the phone fails over to the TLS connection, the phone inserts the crypto attribute into the message to the new server to enable SRTP.

SBC List Traversal

In previous releases when SBC failover occurred, the phone restarted SBC selection from a failover proxy list rather than attempting to connect with an SBC of the same weight and priority. In this release, the phone uses the weight and priority configured in the DNS record to select the new SBC.

Enhanced Failover Configuration Parameters

Use the following parameters to configure enhanced failover features.

voIpProt.SIP.outboundProxy.failOver.enhanced.enable

1 - Enable Line to SBC mapping and SBC list traversal.

0 (default) - Disable.

voIpProt.SIP.tcpFastFailover.timeout

2000-5000 - Define the time to wait before failing over to the next IP in the list of records resolved by the DNS server applicable only before the TCP connection establishment. 5000 (default).

AES 256 Encryption for SRTP Support

Poly phones support 2 methods of AES-256 Media encryption: GCM and ICM.

sec.srtp.offer.AES_GCM_256

1 - Enable AES-256 GCM Encryption for SRTP Support.

0 (Default) - Disable.

sec.srtp.offer.AES_ICM_256

1 - Enable AES-256 ICM Encryption for SRTP Support.

0 (Default) - Disable.

Appending Strings to the User Agent Header

Poly phones allow user agent header strings to accept alphanumeric and special characters up to 256 characters total.

voIpProt.SIP.header.userAgentAppendString

0-256 - Characters allowed in the user agent header string.

Example:

voIpProt.SIP.header.userAgentAppendString="/%BW_MAC %/%BW_ORG_ID%- %BW_ENT_ID%-%BW_GROUP_ID%/%BW_CURRENT_Config_Version%“

The phone sends the following user agent header:

User-Agent: PolycomVVX-VVX_501-UA/5.9.1.1234/abcabcabcabc/Org1-Ent1- Group1/V12.0

Security Updates

See the Polycom Security Center for information about known and resolved security vulnerabilities.

Re: Change Password when provisioned to trio.zoom.us

Hello ,

I believe you could be seeing this certificate trust issue because the Trio in Zoom Room Controller mode does not have a default SNTP server set. During set up you have the option to select your time zone, however this is not enough for the system to get configured with time.

For environments where DHCP does not offer an SNTP/NTP server address and the Trio is set to Zoom Rooms, you must manually set the Trio's time configuration. You could use your internal NTP/SNTP server address or FQDN; or you could point the Trio to time.windows.com.

The parameter to achieve this is tcpIpApp.sntp.address="time.windows.com"

You can also configure this via the Trio's web interface at Preferences > Date & Time and set "SNTP Server" to time.windows.com or any other available public or private time server.

Best Regards,

Doug Santos

Re: VVX D230 Multiple Lines

I am having trouble with placing a call on Hold and being able to pick it up from another handset. I have tried a few different configurations such as, (Broadsoft) SCA built on the primary user as the 2nd line, and also SCA on a separate user. Neither build seems able to see the call from Line 1 when it is placed on hold, and I can't pick it up from the 2nd handset. Registration is present on both handsets, and outbound calls work.

SP1 is set up correctly.

Handset 1 is default, and working.

Handset 2 under DECT Wireless settings has sp1,pp as OutboundServices, and SP1 Service as the Primary Line.

Settings are default under Assign InboundCallRoute and Assign Outbound Services.

What settings would I need to change to be able to Hold and pick up from another handset??

Re: VVX D230 Multiple Lines

I figured this out as well.

Turns out you have to enable X_ShareLine for the SP you want to share the line on, as well as enabling the Handset to use whatever SP lines you want on the phone.

I was able to add 4 lines and 4 SCA's per handset, using 2 handsets.

VVX D230 - Ghost Missed Calls

Hi All,

We have rolled out VVX D230's throughout our company, each site has 1 base & 2 handsets which are part of a hunt group. One of the sites has complained that whenever they receive a call, it shows up as a missed call on the handset that didn't pick up the call.

Looking through different posts I found that RFC 3326 "Call completed elsewhere" solves this issue, is this something that can be setup in our devices? or is there an alternative?

Cheers,

JP
