VVX 601, UC 6.0.0.4796 - how to disable direct IP calls?

$

With the VVX 601, UC 6.0.0.4796, I am getting "ghost calls" from 100 1001 etc. on a regular basis. I don't have a firewall that allows me port restrictions to just the SIP provider and I was wondering where in the settings of the phone these direct IP calls can be disabled? All guides I found when googeling did not address it.

Thanks, I am getting the idea now - I simply expected it to be part of the settings in the phone or the web ui of the phone, but it looks like this requires download/editing/upload of the configuration file, correct?

Hello  ,

again I can only quote the Web UI

Oct 20, 2017 Question:Why can I not change every single configuration parameter via the Phone UI or the Web Interface?

Resolution: Only the most common settings can be changed via the Phone UI or the Web Interface. Additional configuration parameters either require a provisioning server as shown => here <= or simply import a configuration file (or unzip FAQ attached example files) and import these via the Web Interface as shown => here <=

Hello  ,

Welcome back to the Poly Community.

The official Hotelling functionality was developed for our Partner Broadsoft and should simply work with their templates.

I assume you are mixing this with the User feature for other openSIP switches (Digium etc). As we have not seen a backup of your whole configuration I am unable to comment.

If you struggle with the Broadsoft platform please work with them. If you are not using Broadsoft and no other member comments on this or you can fix this yourself the next step would be a support ticket.

In order to raise a support ticket, you need to work with your Poly reseller as they may need to do this for you.

End Customers are usually unable to open a ticket directly with Poly support.

GECDF-Brightstar Telecommunications India Ltd. sold this phone back in 31/03/2017

As the unit is no longer within warranty please be prepared to Pay Per Incident / PPI. This is all outlined in detail here

Re: How to use Polycom Trio 8800 with Webex and Calendar integration

Hi Steffen,

One more thing. We managed to integrate the calendar on Trio 8800 and if the phone is invited to the scheduled webex meeting then the Join button appears correct. Problem is that when we push the Join button it tries to dial the number 2019, (see picture attached). I copied the following config file on the phone, is it correct or I shall modify the Regex section?

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?> <UPLOAD> <ALLfeature.fecc.enabled="0" dialplan.applyToDirectoryDial="1"dialplan.digitmap.lineSwitching.enable="1" dialplan.1.digitmap.mode="regex"dialplan.1.digitmap=".+@.+\.webex\.com"exchange.meeting.parseAllowedSipUriDomains="webex.com"exchange.meeting.parseEmailsAsSipUris="1"exchange.meeting.parseOption="All"/></UPLOAD>

Hello  ,

We would need to see a backup in order to verify the configuration you imported is actually on the phone.

This all comes into support territory which I am unable to provide. Other community users are welcome to comment.

The next step is a support ticket.

In order to raise a support ticket, you need to work with your Poly reseller as they may need to do this for you.

End Customers are usually unable to open a ticket directly with Poly support.

If this is some sort of an Internet discounter providing your MAC address or your Poly devices serial will enable us to look up who would be able to support you. This may not be who you purchased the Poly device from.

If the unit is no longer within the warranty please be prepared to Pay Per Incident / PPI. This is all outlined in detail here

Hello  ,

You have a couple of options:

  • another member of the community replies and tries to help you
  • contact Broadsoft on the configuration and profile you should be using
  • contact your reseller and open a PPI ticket with Poly support

Hello  ,

0717175343|copy |*|00|Server '10.112.100.57' said 'phoneservice/configfiles/64167f7697bd/contacts/64167f7697bd-directory.xml' is not present

The above line shows us that you are using an RPRM but you did not tell us this within the minimum required information.

Also, you did not attach a backup of a working unit and a non-working unit.

I suggest you get this into support after you ensure that the time server is set in this network:

000812.644|sip |4|00|MakeTlsConnection: SSL_connect error 5000812.644|sip |4|00|MakeTlsConnection: connection failed error -1

Your phone does not have an NTP server.

In order to raise a support ticket, you need to work with your Poly reseller as they may need to do this for you.

End Customers are usually unable to open a ticket directly with Poly support.

Exertis Go Connect B.V. sold this unit back in 20/06/2019 so it is nearly new.

@oslinux

Thank you for the reply- I was busy with Poly support and must of missed it.

I boiled down my issue to be more specific to an auto login on a URL.

In this specific example the customer uses the button to interact with "IoT" so we had auto login on url string.

For example

efk.efklist.2.action.string="https://1:2@google.com"

1 being the username and 2 being the password.

The above example was working great -

It seems it broke in V6 the last working version seems to be V5.9.3

Thanks

LDAP Queries Flooding Network

Hello,

I have several Polycom Soundpoint IP 550 phones that are making queries to IP address 0.0.0.36, port 636.  These are flooding our network and I can see the requests in my firewall logs.

Responder from country blocked: Destination IP:0.0.0.36 Country Name:Unknown, Source IP:192.168.10.112, 4034, Destination IP: 0.0.0.36, Port: 636

  I spoke with 8x8, my provider, and they suggested calling Polycom.  I spoke with Polycom and they suggested posting to the community since the phone is out of warranty.

I loggged into the web interface for one of the phones and I can see several ldap related errors.

0725083301|ldap |4|03|ldapData::ldapConnBind:ldap_x_bind_s - rc=0xffffffff <Can't contact LDAP server>

So far no one has been able to tell me where I can check the ldap configuration on the phone, or if there is even anywhere to check it.

Can anyone assist with resolving this issue?  Let me know if any more information is needed.

Hello  ,

welcome back to the Poly Community.

Both the communities Must Read First and the FAQ reference the basic minimum information a new or follow up post should contain.

This ensures the questions having to be asked are limited and any new or follow up post contains the right amount of details to ensure any voluntary participant within the community does not spend additional time chasing basic information.

As a reminder the basic information asked for:

  • Provide the exact Software Version of your Phone
  • Provide the Phone Model
  • Provide the Call Platform (aka openSIP,Teams, Skype for Business Online, Skype for Business on Premise, Lync)
  • Provide details if UC / SIP or ObiEdition
  • Additional Poly Infrastructure (RPRM,PDMS or BToE)
  • If applicable provide a backup of the phone in question

UC Software 4.0.0 or later via the Web Interface Utilities > Phone Backup & Restore > Phone Backup > Phone Backup. Please rename into .TXT or Zip the file to attach.
Since UC Software 5.9.0 simply provide this via the Web Interface Diagnostics > Download Support Information Package

  • If possible provide a Log and either attach them or use the Code Tag.Consult the Troubleshooting Section found within the FAQ if applicable
  • If possible provide the MAC Address or Serial of the device
  • Provide details for example if the issue is a day 1 issue or only happened after an upgrade or any other relevant details
  • For questions around Support please check here

Whilst providing some of these details may not directly impact any possible answer the community can provide, it does enable Poly to have an overview of the current software used. In addition, providing all details at the same time allow us to check logs or look up potential support partners if an issue needs to come into support. It also enables us to verify the entitlement for using features.

Please ensure you always check the FAQ's and/or utilize the community search before posting any new topics or follow up posts.

I'm having the same issues with the VVX250. Upgraded to Obi Edition and now none of the previous default passwords work. 456, admin, user, all do not work.

Not true. Just add the site to the Trusted Sites list, and Compatibility View Settings list, then it works in I.E.

Re: Parking calls / Picking up

Poly has released UC software since the last post, which allows for using BLF to deliver a call park string. Alternately, you can put in syntax to create a softkey which will dial the desired string to initiate the park. I am not familiar with Jive's process, but this works flawlessly with Broadworks.

ex:

<softkey softkey.1.enable="1" softkey.1.use.active="1" softkey.1.label="Park" softkey.1.action="*37$Tinvite$" softkey.1.precede="1" />

If you wish to have the phone enter a hardcoded extension for the parking destination, edit the action string to something like this: "*37$Tinvite$$Cwaitconnect$101#", which will dial the FAC for park (replace as needed; ours is *86), send the call out via consultative transfer (Invite vs Refer for Blind), and upon connection of the call, dial 101 and #.  You could also replce the Cwaitconnect command with Cpause1, Cpause2, etc, to allow for a time-based wait rather than an event-based one.  Hope this helps!!

Btw, bump the FW up to 5.9.x and use the BLF. One button Park/Retrieve. Woot!

The following example enables the new BLF Attendant action options, sets the default short-press to Park (Blind Xfer and original call initiation are still available via long-press). All that's needed to park a call is to press the desired destination's BLF key:

<attendant attendant.callAction="Park" attendant.callActionMenu.enabled="1" /><call call.parkedCallString="*86" />

You can pretty that up in your configs as you see fit.. The syntax about the ActionMenu adds a menu item in Settings > Basic to allow a user to determine default BLF action via the phone's interface. Enable or disable according to your preferences.

IP 430 not booting after change in DHCP server

$

Hi All, first time poster as this is he first time I have encountered a problem I have been unable to solve. I have a flat network. I had Windows servers running my DHCP (various versions throughout the years). The latest was only being used for DHCP so I de-commisioned it and set up DHCP on my Tomato router. Every device is happily using the new DHCP excpt my Polycom phones. The boot server option is set correctly in the dnsmasq.conf - dhcp-option=66,"tftp://XX.XX.XX.XX" - and the phones are set to accept a string. They will not boot. I have traced with wireshark and I can see the "discover" packet and the DHCP server responding with the boot string. The polycoms ignore it. There is no other change on the network other than the DCHP server. If I re-start the Windows server the Polycoms then start to boot and behave, but now that server has crashed with a hardware failuire so I am up the proverbial creek without a paddle.

Any ideas out there? I hope someone can help! Much thanks.
