from the quoted FAQ:

 

  • Since UC Software 5.8.0 the REST API is publicly available to everybody.

The VVX 411 may have unofficially supported this prior to 5.8.x but officially and usable and supported is the feature only since 5.8.0

 

Upgrade your phones to a currently supported Version like UC Software 6.1.0, UC Software 6.0.0 or UC Software 5.9.3

Hi again

 

Thanks for the quick reply.

 

I will check with our provider RingCentral/Telus to see if I can upgrade the phone to the latest software. It seems to be blocked.

 

And for my SSIP7000 (UC software version 4.0.9.1191), would you have an idea of how can I check using a powershell script if the default admin password is in use? I need to check that for compliance.

Hello  ,

 

I doubt that RingCentral will allow you your own software version so I think this is a no go.

 

In regards of IP7000 and a way to discover if the Factory Admin password is being used I do not have anything and in addition would also not share anything as this could potentially be used for a DoS attack.

I understand the possible DoS.

 

After checking with RingCentral/Telus, they won't let me upgrade the firmware.

 

I think I am out of luck then to check all my phones. 

 

I am lucky enough that a good 80% of my phones are VVX 411 and that the powershell script returns some information (including the fact that I connect with our standardize admin password).

Hello Steffen that for the replay

 

I didn´t read de FAQ sorry for that however I did read that post that u mencioned and did not work either

 

I install filezila test it agaist my PC with telnet and was fine, when I try to connect the phone nothing not even logs on server that someone is trying

 

in the past I upgrade this phone from internet just with the address that u erase from my original post but now does not work either

 

I need some good advise please, just tell me exacly what to do. Right now phone reboots and does not start up so I can give u the sofware. again I explain that I format the hole phone, model is SoundPoint Polycom 330 and MAC 0004F22552F0

Hello  ,

 

you still have not provided us with the currently used software version. If the phone does not show any activity on your locally installed FTP then most likely a local firewall is the issue.

 

The same may be applicable if the external, not meant for the public, IP address no longer works.

 

I can see that 0004F22552F0 was sold via SCANSOURCE INC back in 03/09/2009 so it must have worked at some point.

VVX600 not showing favorites on idle screen

I've added contacts to be a favorite with a favorite index...but the contact does not show on the idle screen.  Is there an admin setting that effects this?

Hello Steffen,

We have experienced the exact same error as Josh has outlined.  The rebooting leads to an endless loop, not allowing access to the menu to even try a software upgrade.  Do you have any suggestions on how we can proceed?

@shdwlynx It is worth noting if you are using VVX600 these are now in support mode only (5.9.xxxx releases only) and no new features are being added. I don't know if your intent is to autoupdate the devices but with firmware being a major update to a device an "if it isn't broke down't fix it"  attitude is usually good. It is also good practice to read the release notes before updating as sometimes features are removed or changed, which can cause issues to a stable deployment.

Both the communities Must Read First and the FAQ reference the basic minimum information a new or follow up post should contain.

This ensures the questions having to be asked are limited and any new or follow up post contains the right amount of details to ensure any voluntary participant within the community does not spend additional time chasing basic information.

As a reminder the basic information asked for:

 

  • Provide the exact Software Version of your Phone
  • Provide the Phone Model
  • Provide the Call Platform (aka openSIP,Teams, Skype for Business Online, Skype for Business on Premise, Lync)
  • Provide details if UC / SIP or ObiEdition
  • Additional Poly Infrastructure (RPRM,PDMS or BToE)
  • If applicable provide a backup of the phone in question

UC Software 4.0.0 or later via the Web Interface Utilities > Phone Backup & Restore > Phone Backup > Phone Backup. Please rename into .TXT or Zip the file to attach.
Since UC Software 5.9.0 simply provide this via the Web Interface Diagnostics > Download Support Information Package

  • If possible provide a Log and either attach them or use the Code Tag.Consult the Troubleshooting Section found within the FAQ if applicable
  • If possible provide the MAC Address or Serial of the device
  • Provide details for example if the issue is a day 1 issue or only happened after an upgrade or any other relevant details
  • For questions around Support please check here

 

 

Whilst providing some of these details may not directly impact any possible answer the community can provide, it does enable Poly to have an overview of the current software used. In addition, providing all details at the same time allow us to check logs or look up potential support partners if an issue needs to come into support. It also enables us to verify the entitlement for using features.

 

Do you:

 

  • Have a backup of the phone?
  • Have the XML File for the Speed Dials?

I doubt you see the same problem as described by the original poster as he described exactly what he see's aka the message and being able to fix the problem.

 

Your unit was manufactured in 2016 so I assume at some point it worked so what has changed? 

 

In addition, an SSIP6000 uses completely different hardware or OS as a SPIP phone so we need more details of you.

Sure, no problem.

The error that displays is "File System Error: Corruption Detected"  The phone did indeed work, and was used in a very limited capacity.  However, approximately a few months ago (April-May 2019 timeframe) the error appeared.  There is a prompt to select the middle button for "Fix" however that takes you back to the same error after rebooting.  Please let me know any other details you would need to know.  Thanks so much.

Steffen,

 

Thank you for your response.  When you say "service provider", do mean my VOIP service provider (we use OnSip)?  Or my internet provider?

 

I'm also wondering if port forwarding or other router configuration would be in order (though I never needed to in my old locale).  I am rebooting about 10 times a work day, so it gets old.

Hi  

 

I must admit, in my 11 years at Poly support I have never heard of an SSIP6000 do this. If there is no other menu you can cancel then only an RMA would help.

 

As the unit is out of warranty this will not be free.

If you use BToe are you using Skype for Business? If yes, why was this posted here?

 

Are these Favorites you added via the Skype client?

 

Do you have a backup of your configuration as asked originally?

Sorry, ignore the BToE.  I am not using Skype.  I use Zoom.

 

I added a contact directly into the phone and assigned it as a favorite and gave it a Favorite Index.  But it does not show up on the idle screen.  Is there a configuratoin that needs to be turned on in ADMIN?

REST API and DTMF Tones

Hello!

Is it possible to introduce a pause when sending DTMF tones using WebCallControl.SendDTMF REST API? It appears that all digits are sent in rapid succession which is not recogized by many conference bridges. Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • What are your settings for tone.dtmf.offTime and tone.dtmf.onTime?
  • Have you tried sending an Individual Digit rather than a String?
